This Privacy Policy explains what information Gear & Road (“we,” “us”) collects when you visit gearandroad.com, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
Gear & Road is an independent website operated from Santa Catarina, Brazil. If you have any question about this policy, write to gearandroad.support@gmail.com.
Information we collect
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting server and the tools we use record basic technical data when you visit: IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, pages visited, referring page, and date and time of the visit. We use this to keep the site running and secure, and to understand which articles are useful.
Cookies and similar technologies. Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. We and our partners use them for:
- Essential functions – keeping the site working and secure, and caching pages so they load faster.
- Analytics – Google Analytics helps us count visits and see how readers use the site (for example, which pages are viewed and for how long). We look at this data in aggregate.
- Advertising – Google AdSense shows ads on this site and may use cookies to show ads and measure their performance (see the next section).
Contact form. If you use our contact form, we receive your name, email address, subject, and message. We use them only to reply to you.
Comments. If comments are open and you leave one, WordPress stores your name, email address, website (if provided), comment text, IP address, and browser user agent to help detect spam. Your email address is never shown publicly.
We do not ask for sensitive information, and we do not sell personal information.

- You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at https://www.aboutads.info/choices (U.S.) or https://www.youronlinechoices.eu (Europe).

Your choices about cookies
- Browser settings: you can block or delete cookies in your browser’s settings. Some parts of the site may not work as expected without them.
- Personalized ads: use My Ad Center or the opt-out pages listed above. You will still see ads, but they will be less tailored to you.
- Google Analytics: you can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout

- U.S. state privacy choices: visitors from U.S. states with privacy laws, such as California, see a “Do not sell or share my personal information” link. Use it to opt out of the use of your information for personalized advertising.
How we share information
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us run the site, and only as needed:
- Hosting: Hostinger, which hosts the site and its server logs.
- Google: Google Analytics (audience measurement) and Google AdSense (advertising).
- WordPress and its plugins, which run on our own hosting.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the site and its users.
How long we keep information
Contact form messages are kept for up to 12 months and then deleted. Comments stay published until they are removed. Analytics data is kept according to the retention period set in Google Analytics.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- know what personal information we hold about you and get a copy;
- correct inaccurate information;
- delete your information;
- withdraw consent you gave earlier (for example, for cookies);
- opt out of personalized advertising.
These rights come from laws such as the privacy laws of California and other U.S. states, the GDPR in Europe and the UK, and Brazil’s General Data Protection Law (LGPD, Law No. 13,709/2018), which applies because the site is operated from Brazil.
